Duofast Coil Siding Nailer DF225C
The folks at Duo-Fast recently sent me one of their DF225C coil siding nailers 
to use and review. the DF225C is designed as a siding, decking and fencing nailer. Timing was perfect because we were starting a barn siding project and I used the nailer to install 1 7/8″ stainless steel, ring shank nails.
First Impression:
The Duofast Coil Siding Nailer DF225C has a comfortable rubber grip and easy to use functions. It has a plastic magazine that obviously reduces the nailers weight but I wonder how this nail will fair over time on the job-site or after a short fall.
The Duofast DF225C uses plastic collated coil nails that do not litter the installed nail with potential “rust worthy” exposed wire shards which always rust and stain the siding. The plastic collation also means easier loading and less jamming.
A tool-less depth of drive adjustment is located near the trigger and easily allows the user to dial in the fastener depth. For example on this barn siding job we were installing all of our fasteners flush and painting them. On a more elaborate job we set the nails slightly and then the painter fills the holes.
As I get older I look for easier and faster ways of doing my work.. Along the same lines is comfort and reducing fatigue. The Duofast DF225C weighs only 4.5 lbs less and does not put the stress on the shoulders and elbows that heavier nailers do over time it clearly reduces fatigue as well as allows better control of the nailer.
Using the DuoFast DF225C nailer:
The DF225C performed flawlessly and I really liked the dial in depth of drive. The belt loop comes in handy when you occasionally need to holster the nailer for other tasks.

The range of fastener sizes and types makes this a very versatile coil nail gun.
Overall Impression:
The DF225C Coil Nailer was lightweight, powerful and really simple to use. Out of all the nailers I use this one has the potential to being the most versatile. It is designed to install fasteners for siding, decking and fencing and clearly is a worthy nailer to have. My only concern is the nail magazines lifespan on a job-site. Its not uncommon for a nailer to be dropped, have items drop onto it or have the nailer tossed into a truck or tool box.
