Heated Towel Warmers

I woke up this New England morning, to a cold house.  Blame the Ole Yankee for the lack of heat: I refuse to turn on the furnace until at least November.  As I do every fall morning I sprinted to the shower to escape the cold!

Whether it’s to relax after long hard day, release stress, wake up in the morning or just to unwind:  for many of us the bathroom is a place of escape.  A hot shower has always been my escape.

My problem this morning was once I got out of the shower I reached out and grabbed a cold, slightly damp towel!    My tranquil morning shower came to a screeching halt!   That’s not the proper way to finish a gloriously hot and relaxing shower.

So after some thought I started thinking about the problem.  It’s not the shower . . . its the finish.

If you read this site often you  know that I am always looking for easier, faster, better or more efficient ways to do things,  make use of space or use design solutions and modern accessories to achieve a better situation.

So how could I improve my morning cold, damp towel situation and turn it into the optimal “win-win” situation?  It came to me over coffee.  A heated towel warmer would help restore that tranquil morning ambiance I was looking for!.

My Solution To Cold and Damp Towels

I’ve installed three towel warmers for clients in the past but never even thought about my own bathroom.  It’s a ridiculously simple project – even a DIY project.

Whether it’s escaping from the yelling of kids, the phone or emails it doesn’t matter, locking yourself in the bathroom  usually means a few minutes of solitude.  A heated  towel warmer can accentuate that solitude by providing  a versatile and attractive way to display your bath towels with the added bonus of keeping them toasty warm.

Types Of Towel Warmers

Towel warmers come in two types – a hardwired model and the plug-in model.  The hardwired type works best with remodels or new construction as it requires  an electrician or a serious do-it-yourself-er while the later does not.

The Infinity is C-UL-US listed and comes with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.   It is 23 5/8″wide  x 32 High and weighs less than 9 lbs., and heats your towels and bathrobes to 100 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.  This and all of the towel warmers have a three to nine inch offset from the wall to prevent any damage to the wall. You should also maintain a distance from heating thermostats.

The Infinity is easy to install and comes in hardwired or plug-in models. The 120 volt hardwired model comes with a programmable timer control which means you can program it to turn on a few hours before you need it and turn off while you’re at work.   The plug-in model come with a 6′ long cord and plugs into a standard 120V outlet.

Warmly Yours Towel Warmers has a total of four different styles to choose from.  The  Riviera and Portofino and Elements models in a chrome finish and my favorite the Infinity Towel Warmer is finished in a brushed stainless steel.

How Much Does It Cost To Run?

With an average cost to operate these towel warmers at about fifteen cents per day plus the option of a cost saving programmable timer how can you go wrong?
