"How To Get Me to Read Your Blog"

I stumbled upon this article written by Thord Daniel Hedengren a designer, writer, and blogger, and also the editor of The Blog Herald.

If your interested in blogging, it’s a worthwhile read.

Here’s an excerpt:

Chances are I’m not reading your blog. That’s not because I don’t like you, most likely I don’t even know you exist, and that’s your fault.

Yes, you heard me. Your fault. It’s something you can remedy though.

There are a gazillion blogs out there, and most of them suck, to be honest. Yours might not, though, so I’m willing to have a look. But how am I to find it? And why should I stay along at all?

Thord addresses the importance of these issues:

1. Commenting on other blogs

2. Submitting your posts to social tolls like Stumbleupon or digg.

3. Having great headlines

4. Reducing clutter and having properly functioning links

5. Do people “get” your blog?

6. consistently updating your blog.
